Public money, demonstrably managed access

Working with public money means being able to show access is right
A regional transport organisation that arranges transport for pupils and for people with a care assessment works on behalf of local authorities. That means accounting for itself: for the journeys, for the costs, and for who had access to the data of the people being transported.
With manual administration that accounting is a reconstruction after the fact every time. Who had access to the planning, to passenger data, to invoicing, and when? With around two hundred and ten employees, from drivers to planners to customer service, and staffing that moves with the contracts, that answer is never quite current.
What they wanted: access from the job, and the trail with it
The organisation wanted access to follow from the job, on a least-privilege basis: a driver sees their own journeys, a planner the planning, customer service the passenger data needed to help. And every grant should leave a trail, so that accounting for it is no longer a project.
Accounting for yourself should not be a reconstruction. It should be an overview that is already there.
What was built: roles per job, an audit log that is ready
Joinly reads the HR changes and translates role and department into the permissions that belong with them. Permissions that no longer belong to the job are revoked automatically, so access does not grow with years of service.
Every change is in the audit log: who, when, which access and on the basis of which change. That is the substantiation the organisation can show its clients, and it comes from the system instead of from a reconstruction.

Today: accounting for it is no longer a project
The overview is there the moment it is asked for. Changes in staffing, around twenty-five a month, are handled straight away, which keeps access current.
The service desk keeps time for the work that actually helps people. And the organisation can show its local authorities that access to passenger data is arranged as carefully as the transport itself.
